Biography : Dr. Wisarn Patchoo graduated from the Electrical engineering department, Kasetsart University, Thailand. He obtained his masters od engineering degree from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand. His thesis was entitled "Throughput Analysis of Wireless LAN in Fast Frequency Nonselective Nakagami". Dr. Patchoo received his Ph.D degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Washington State University, USA. His dissertation was entitled "Analysis and Application of Lattice Vector Quantization using Mixture Models and Bit-plane Coding" (Advisor: Professor Thomas R. Fischer).

Currently Dr. Patchoo is a Lecturer and vice dean of School of Engineering, Bangkok University Prior joining Bangkok University, he worked as Integrated Product Engineer (Software and Service), Huawei Technologies (Thailand) and as a field engineer trainee, Asia Wireless Communication (AWC) Co.,Ltd.

Research interests
His research interests involve Data Compression and Information Theory, Image and Signal Processing, applications of Signal Processing, design of compact MMI-based optical polarizers, and optical waveguides in THz range.
